Afoul of the Law

When your car has to come to a stop
And the  man walking up is a cop
What is your excuse
For unlawful abuse
Is it good or will it be slop

Seven times we know he won the Winston Cup
At the right time he would fire the number three up
Today's his birthday
Sixty two they do say
If he drove today, the crowd would start to erupt

Were cheap at the super marts
Some thought they were hearty
Then became great at your party

Today as I was mowing my lawn
The thoughts of good weather would dawn
It occurred as each pass
Of cutting the grass
